GLYCOL CLEANING
IndusClean has developed a special cleaning technique based on tri-ethylene glycol or TEG (controlled glycolysis) intended specifically for cleaning filters used for polyester or PET applications This technique reduces PET into Glycol (ethanediol) which, together with terephthalic acid, is a major component of PET. PET is used to manufacture bottles and clothes. By adding PET-contaminated components to TEG heated to 275° C, the polymer decomposes and can then be removed from the contaminated components. The remaining contamination can be easily removed by using ultrasonic technology. Traces of charred or degraded polymer (causing black spots) can be removed by oxidation in the pyrolysis oven. The final result will be a 100% clean filter element ready for its next run.
